About this opportunity

Applications are now open for the 2027–2029 intake of the Global-MINDS Master's Programme, an international postgraduate degree focusing on the Psychology of Global Mobility, Inclusion and Diversity i

Who can apply

Applicants must meet the programme’s academic requirements to be considered for admission.

The standard entry requirement is a bachelor’s degree equivalent to Irish National Qualifications Framework Level 8, with at least a second-class honours grade of 2:2 in psychology or an equivalent qualification recognised by the admissions authorities.

Candidates must also have completed at least 100 ECTS credits in psychology or demonstrate equivalent experience in psychology and research methods.

Applicants with undergraduate degrees in other disciplines may be considered under certain conditions, provided they have the required psychology and research-methods background. Global-MINDS is an advanced psychology programme, so applicants without sufficient foundational knowledge may not be eligible.

There is no age limit, and applicants from all countries are welcome to apply.

Can final-year students apply?

Yes. Candidates who have not completed their bachelor’s degree when applying may submit proof of university enrolment, available academic transcripts and a declaration confirming their expected graduation date.

Admission will be conditional on submitting the completed degree certificate before enrolment.

Applicants must also satisfy the University of Limerick’s English-language requirements.

Benefits

One of the most important considerations for applicants is the programme’s funding arrangement.

Global-MINDS confirms that Erasmus+ funding for the programme has ended. Consequently, students joining from 2027 will be responsible for financing their studies unless they obtain independent external funding.

The official participation costs for the complete two-year programme are:

Student nationalityTotal participation fee

European Union€9,400

Non-European Union€18,600

These fees cover participation costs for the two-year programme. They do not include accommodation, living expenses or travel between study locations.

Applicants should also budget for visa-related expenses, personal costs and other expenses associated with studying in multiple European countries.

External funding opportunities

The programme website identifies several independent funding possibilities that students may investigate. These include Rotary scholarships, Global Study Awards, Erasmus+ internship grants where available, and country-specific funding schemes.

Some opportunities are restricted by nationality or membership requirements. For example, certain funding schemes are available to students from India, Germany, Colombia or other specified countries.

Importantly, these external awards are not guaranteed and are not provided directly by the Global-MINDS programme. Applicants should make realistic financial arrangements without assuming they will receive additional funding.
